The Nationals front page today caught me astounded. Road linking Lae and Port Moresby.?? Havent heard of it seriously! Im just so worried about my Papuan and Central brothers who will be driven out of their own land right into the extremes of Port Moresby and Central Province when the influx of people from other provinces home in. Look around you if your in Port Moresby. Every portion of land and space available even in reserved areas and every suburbs and civic areas around Port Moresby has been taken up by foreigners. When I say foreigners, Im referring to people from other provinces other than Port Moresby or Central Province. These people (Port Moresby & Central) are being marginalized in their own land. They have no say whatsoever in the development of Port Moresby. All they are doing is spectating. This is ridiculous. Has the government considered the pros and cons and ifs and buts etc when the highway is established.?? How about the social impacts.??? Drug trafficking from the highlands straight into Port Moresby. Criminal activities on the highway and the list goes on. Take a closer look at whats happening in Lae and youd understand why we dont need another gateway of problems. Cheaper fare and mode of travel and more problems for Port Moresby!!
