The Navy warships taking part in the Symbolic Departure of Naval Ships tomorrow have steamed into Amazing Albany. Between 1-2pm tomorrow, seven naval vessels from Australia, New Zealand and Japan will perform a sail past in King George Sound and symbolic departure to commemorate the departure of the First Convoy a century ago to the day. The sail past route, which has been confirmed by The Australian Defence Force, will take the vessels as close as safely possible to land, providing excellent views for spectators. Two ships will break off at approximately 1:30pm to move through Ataturk channel. There will be excellent vantage points of these ships in close confines for both the public and the dignitaries at the National Anzac Centre, the opening of which will be happening coincident to the sail past. The Live Sites at Middleton Beach, Mt Adelaide and Mt Clarence will each offer excellent vantage points for the sail past. These sites will also offer live coverage of the Troop March and Commemorative Service on large screens, in addition to food, drink and other amenities. Other potential vantage points include Marine Drive, Ellen Cove Boardwalk and Emu Point.
