The Necessity of Change We fear change, yet it is necessary if we are to grow. The stubborn refusal to grow is a choice to remain ignorant, simply because the fear of the unknown creates an anxiety within us that is greater than our desire to evolve. It prevents us from gaining a better understanding of ourselves, our place in this world, and the blessings of life. Life is a verb, it is a state of action and the fulfillment of potential. Finding comfort in the here and now is a good thing, but the inability to let go for fear’s sake is not. To attempt to prevent change, to remain stuck in a comfort zone with the fears of “what if” denies growth, enslaves us with the illusion that we have control over life itself, and is the decay of the potential to be. To live, to be, are actions that embody movement and constant evolution.
