The Need for An Hour For Others. Liverpool continues to be officially classified as the most deprived city in England. Year after year we come out as topping deprivation/poverty tables, child poverty is a major issue. Many of our elderly choose between eating or heating. Liverpool has a significantly higher proportion of its small areas, known as Lower Super Output Areas (LSOAs), with the highest levels of deprivation than any other city in the country. What we also have are the most caring, loyal, passionate people, who when times are hard come together as a force like nowhere else in the world. With all this in mind An Hour For Others knows there is a real need to put the unity back in our own community. Supporting acts of kindness and selflessness is what hour for others aims to achieve and we want to make it contagious. Together we will do this.
