The New Covenant: What It Means to Be God’s People I dwell with My people. You have asked in your heart, “What does it mean that I will be your God, and you will be My people?” I will tell you. I have not asked for a perfect people to dwell with. I have only asked for people who desire Me more than they desire anything else. Nor have I desired the inconstant soul who today loves Me, and tomorrow loves the world. Such a one never allows My work to continue to purify their soul for very long. The heart that I seek is faithful, and willing to let Me direct their steps. Such a soul is one who willingly takes time to be with Me, to seek both My fellowship and My counsel, and is not a forgetful hearer. Such a one will not be perfect of themselves, but they will be faithful until I perfect their souls. Like any father, I lovingly teach and train My children. But how can I instruct those who remain too busy to sit with Me and listen? Or worse, how can I teach those who don’t want to listen to My voice – they would rather seek their own version of Me, and when they don’t find Me, they quit seeking at all. What joy there is in heaven and on earth when My people enter My kingdom presence! How I long for a people who know Me, and are comfortable in My presence. Like the father who continually looked in the distance for his prodigal son to return home, so do I continuously seek for My children to come home to Me. This is why I am long on patience. My eyes run continually to and fro searching to bless and encourage all those whose hearts are perfect towards Me – perfect in their desire and hunger for Me. Now, for these My people for whom and with whom I have established My covenant in the blood of My Son -- what is it that I have determined to do? Simply this: I have determined to be a father to His children. Does a father expect his young children to fend for themselves? Does a father not provide all things whenever their beloved child calls? Does not a father patiently teach and instruct so that each of his precious children grow up with character, strength, and divine purpose? Why then would I not do at least as much and far more for you, My son? Know this, that there is never a single moment that I am not instantly available to My children. There is never a moment that I am not immediately accessible to their call. By faith, every one of My promises will be given to them – healing, strength, and all manner of blessings are theirs because every child of God who comes to Me in love and faith will always capture My heart. So trust Me to supply all that you need. Know that trust, that is – faith – is not the same thing as soulish determination. It is not a decision of the soul. Faith is a confidence within your spirit. It comes by hearing My words, and learning to trust them, just as occurred for My first covenant sons and daughters listed in Hebrews chapter 11. As I was God unto My people under the Old Covenant, even more so will I be God to My people who understand and acquire by faith all the heavenly provisions of the New Covenant. They are much greater today than they ever were before. So enjoy My New Covenant blessings!
