The New Testament is divided into five sections: The Gospels (Matthew to John); History (Book of Acts); the Pauline Epistles (Romans through Philemon); the General Epistles (Hebrews through Jude), and Prophecy (Revelation). The New Testament was written about the year 45 AD 95 The New Testament was written in Greek Koine (common Greek, the common form of the Greek language daily in the first century AD). The Gospels give us four different, though not contradictory accounts of the birth, life, ministry, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Gospels show how Jesus was the promised Messiah of the Old Testament and lays the foundation for teaching the rest of the New Testament. The book of Acts records the acts of the apostles of Jesus, men Jesus sent into the world to proclaim the Gospel of salvation. The Book of Acts tells the beginning of the church and its rapid growth in the first century AD The Pauline Epistles, written by the Apostle Paul, are letters to specific churches - exposing the official Christian doctrine and practice to be followed that doctrine. The General Epistles Pauline Epistles complement to teaching and additional application. The book of Revelation prophesies the events that occur at the end of time. The study of the New Testament is a powerful and valuable learning. The New Testament tells us Jesus death on the cross for us - and what response we have before His sacrifice. The focus of the New Testament is found in the solid Christian teaching and the resulting practice should continue teaching.
