The New York Times recently featured alumna Lisa Brunie-McDermott and alumna and Sustainable Environmental Systems program coordinator Jaime Stein in an article on New York Citys two-year pilot organics collection program. The program, which is currently running in all five boroughs, encourages people to separate their organic waste from New York City trash. Brunie-McDermott-- one of the outreach workers in the Sanitation Departments outreach unit--is a key player in the program.
