The New Yorker bemoans the fact that there is no hope at the moment for successfully radical leftist governments...the whole trend alarms them, but it gives them a great chance to use their favorite pejoratives like xenophobic. As the welfare states collapse financially and the problems of open borders become apparent (especially with Muslims seeking Islamic autonomy), politics turns back toward conservative economic and social policies,,,the ground of traditional wisdom, prudence, reason and freedom.
