The Newcastle Blues Club yearly review........... I suppose i should do one to let you know how its been the last 12 months....... i`ll keep it short............Its been the best thing to hit Newcastle`s music scene for years...........is that short enough? no? ok.......you all know why i started it and why i do it.........you may also know we have had some awesome bands there too including Uli Jon Roth, Michael Katon Ryan McGarvey, Kirk Fletcher, Bob Malone Rosco Levee Albany Down The Paddy Maguire Band Jenna Hooson Maguire, Lorna Fothergill Northsyde, Mitch Laddie Band The Hookahs, BadBob Bates, Jake Fletcher, Russ Tippins electric band, Lewis Hamilton and the Boogie Brothers Tom Killner, The last fakers Stevie Twister Stoker The Steve Fulsham band, Slack Alice, The Katie Bradley Band, The Gerry Jablonski Band and many many more.......apologies if i missed you out............ We have a great set up at Forest Hall Ex-Servicemens Institute too. a great crew with Magic Martys Lighting Emporium and Nigel Turner, we have the best staff in the world who are so polite and happy its spooky........we even have the cheapest beer and poshest loos............ We have a great group of music loving punters who have supported me 100%, some haven`t missed a gig...................we have had tons of national press and praise in the media too.............and there are a lot more gigs to come with bands from all over the world supported by our own local talent.................... that`s the good bit.................now the down side.............. Its been very tough trying to make this club successful with hours spent all day and into the night to get the word out and encourage people to support live music in the area. sometimes i wonder why i bother, a few times i`ve nearly called it a day, and we are not out of the woods yet as i`m still out of pocket financially................. The success of the Newcastle Blues club is all down to you guys who love live music, it will only continue to grow if we get people in and cover the huge costs to stage it. i can only do so much, so pass the word and bring your friends for a cracking night out in good company...........BECAUSE ...............like the old Mayfair...once its gone, it becomes a distant memory...................
