The Newest Colossus 2013 Like the brazen giant of Persian fame, With conquering limbs astride from land to land; Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand A boorish man with a sword, whose blade Is drone empowered lightning, and his name Father of Tyrants. From his fisted hand Clenched world-wide domination; his wild eyes command The air-bridged harbor where twin towers flamed. "Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries he Through teleprompted lips. "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I will put them in a camp for their own safety And feed them less than they need each day Until they finally need no more." (Apologies to Emma Lazarus)
