WHEN: The brethren immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea, and when they arrived, they went into the synagogue of the Jews. WHAT: Now these [Berean] were more [noble-minded] than those in Thessalonica,.. HOW: ..for they received the word with great eagerness, [examining the Scriptures daily].. WHY:..[to see] whether these things were so. RESULT: Therefore many of them believed, along with a number of prominent Greek women and men. Does Scripture tell us how to be discerning? It certainly does. Paul sums up the process in (1 Thessalonians 5:21–22) “Examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good; abstain from every form of evil.” There, in three straightforward commands, he spells out the requirements of a discerning mind. #Berean #Truth #Spirit #Discernment
