The North Central Indiana, Area Health Education Center offers many types of healthcare education programs for students and providers. AHEC is funded by the IU School of Family Medicine and serves 11 counties in North Central Indiana. We would like to tell you about an upcoming event planned for April 19th in Tippecanoe County. We are taking registrations for a FREE Youth Mental Health First Aid program to be held in partnership with Mental Health America. One in five Americans has a mental illness and may be reluctant to seek help or might not know where to turn for care. Youth Mental Health First Aid is the initial help given to a young person developing a mental health problem. Youth Mental Health First Aid is a public education program that can help communities understand mental illnesses, seek timely intervention, and save lives. AHEC’s target audience for the program includes: healthcare professionals, health professions students, law enforcement officers, social service agency professionals, and educators. Please see the attached flyer for more information regarding this FREE program to be offered in Lafayette April 19th! Please forward this attached information to those you think might be interested in knowing more. Thank you, Jeremy W.
