The Nuremberg Trials (International Military Tribunal) TOUR On 20 November 1945 began the "Trial of the Century" in Courtroom ( Room 600 ) in the Nuremberg Palace of Justice. It was the first time in history that leading government officials were put on trial for crimes committed during war time. Accused major war criminals were tried for the Nazi reign of terror which had led to human suffering of hitherto unimaginable proportions. 21 leaders of the Nazi regime and six "criminal organizations" were accused of one or more of four different charges before the International Military Tribunal.
