The Nutcracker Ballet is a soft spot for me. I danced for nine - TopicsExpress

The Nutcracker Ballet is a soft spot for me. I danced for nine years in Jacksonville with the Jacksonville Symphony when the Childrens Museum was the sponsor. Roles from Mouse, Clara, Doll, to Dew Drop Fairy. Seeing Winnie perform last night was magical. Crazy how time goes so fast. If I close my eyes, I can still smell backstage. (I know thats weird!) I even had a dream last night that I would forget my dance. I just posted a blog on rearview mirrors. They are small in comparison to the front window we look into to drive. They are necessary for looking behind, but if our focus remains in our past, we are likely to wreck. I pointed out that God wants us to look forward. He wants us to press on INTO that which He has called us. Looking behind is good, but only to direct us forward. My post pointed out more illustrations of parking in past mistakes, broken dreams, and poor choices. But, what about the good things? The successes? The highlights? The teams we made. The grades we worked for. The jobs we got. The hard work and dedication. YES! These are wonderful, too, but I believe God still wants us to move forward. I still remember the feel of the red velvet dress as I danced the role of Clara and crying when Fritz broke my Nutcracker . . . but if I park in that memory, I just get sad that I am 44 and cant dance like I used to. Im not saying Im old, but after 4 children, your body isnt the same! We are always moving FORWARD into all the God is calling us to. Its great to remember, but its even better to keep on dancing. We have an amazing Choreographer! This is cool: When I was Clara, the cavalier was James Canfield from the New York City Ballet. He came back my senior year when I was Dew Drop Fairy! We took the same pose. Yes, time does move forward! Press on my sweet friend, God has great things waiting for us in the wings!
