The Obama #Iraqinvasion speech, interpreted No religion condones the killing of innocents...except the religion of secular liberal capitalism which has killed more innocent people in the modern age than any other. ISIL is a terrorist organisation...they execute prisoners. They kill children ...weve killed much more children with our drones and we lock away prisoners without trial for years on end, but that makes us the leaders of the world. ISIL killed two journalists. We must destroy them...our own soldiers killed at least 16 journalists in the war in Iraq alone. They got off with slaps on the wrist. Americans have joined ISIL in Syria and Iraq. Trained and battle-hardened, these fighters could try to return to their home countries and carry out deadly attacks....Americans have also joined the Israeli Defence Force. Trained and battle-hardened, they could return (after killing little boys playing on the beach) and carry out deadly attacks. But..errr...yeah, did I mention this was not a war on Islam or Muslims? We spent over a decade in Iraq and Afghanistan saving its men, women and children from terror. Went really well. Weve laid both countries to waste. So were going in again. After the war in Iraq, we installed and sponsored the Maliki regime which brought untold terror on the people of Iraq, leading directly to the rise of AQI and later ISIL, but...ah...were America. Were the best! This is American leadership at its best: we stand with people who fight for their own freedom; and we rally other nations on behalf of our common security and common humanity...when it suits our political and economic interests. When it doesnt (Palestine, Syria, Burma, Xinjiang...), we turn a blind eye. Its complex, people. Its not black and white. The Assad regime killed tens of thousands of innocent people in Syria. We sat around watching and giving him time to do more. Now, two Americans have been killed. We must mobilise, because the lives of Americans are more valuable than the lives of others. We will now also use this opportunity to arm our favoured opposition in Syria and impose our alternative to Assad. Weve been doing this counter-terrorism thing for thirteen years: war, tougher laws, sponsoring moderate Islam, entrapping Muslims, spying, more war...its, ah, not really working, but, ah,... our technology companies and universities are unmatched! Yes! American leadership is the one constant in an uncertain world...It is America...it is America... We lead...we do everything. Everyone else, please shut up and follow. America, America, America.
