It is the 2006 Kapjla Bianco (Chardonnay, Friulano, Malvasia) made by Damijan Podservic in Fruili in northeastern Italy, bordering Slovenia & Austria, one of the most exciting wine regions on the planet. You might guess from the wine makers name that he is Slovenian. Damijan grows fruit in the Gorizia hills of Friuli & makes amazing white wine by fermenting on the skins in upright wood fermenters using only natural yeast. He produces white wines with intense flavour, some tannin & spice. A beautiful match.
