The Office of Emergency Management reported to the Commissioners - TopicsExpress

The Office of Emergency Management reported to the Commissioners Court this morning that Caldwell County has one of the highest flash-flooding mortality rates (per capita) in the state, sadly bolstered by the dual tragedies of the Halloween 2013 floods. As the sky lights up with the coming storms, which could dump between 1-5 inches of rain on us, or could leave us high and dry, please remember this fact, think about it carefully, and respect it. Barricades go up for a reason. Warnings go out for a reason. Post-Register staff will be coordinating with the Caldwell County OEM, and monitoring road closings throughout the night, should they become necessary. If the storms do their worst, we pray that you will make the best choices for yourself, your families, and our first responders. Turn around. Dont drown.
