The Office of the State’s Attorney for Allegany County, Maryland, Michael O. Twigg, State’s Attorney, announced: During the months of June and July 2013, C3I Narcotics began an investigation into the distribution of illicit narcotics in the Westernport area. The investigation culminated in a search and seizure warrant, at a residence within Westernport, wherein Lamont George Smith, 24 of Baltimore, Maryland, and Timothy Lowell Brown, 22 also of Baltimore, Maryland were arrested on violations of Maryland’s Controlled Dangerous Substance Act. On Tuesday, March 11, 2014, Lamont George Smith was found guilty of the charge Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine. Smith was sentenced to twenty (20) years incarceration within the Department of Corrections with ten (10) years of said sentence suspended. Upon his release he will be on probation for a period of five (5) years. The case was prosecuted by Sam Lane, Assistant State’s Attorney. Mr. Smith was represented by Sean Gallagher, Esq. The Honorable W. Timothy Finan, Judge of the Circuit Court for Allegany County, presided over the matter. On Tuesday, February 18, 2014, Timothy Lowell Brown was found guilty of the charge Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine. Brown was sentenced to fifteen (15) years incarceration within the Department of Corrections with seven (7) years of said sentence suspended. Upon his release he will be on probation for a period of three (3) years. The case was prosecuted by Sam Lane, Assistant State’s Attorney. Mr. Brown was represented by Kelly Clark, Esq. The Honorable Gary G. Leasure, Judge of the Circuit Court for Allegany County, presided over the matter. Mr. Twigg went on to say, “I hope this sends a clear message; that if you choose to come to Allegany County with the purpose of selling illicit narcotics, it does not matter what part of the County you decide to ply your trade, we will find you; arrest you; and prosecute you to the fullest extent of the law”.
