The Official Conspiracy Theory states the UA93 Left Newark, was hijacked and, on its way back to wherever it was intended to go, was commandeered by passengers but crashed in a reclaimed open pit mine. All passengers and crew perished as the plane slipped slipped through the surface of the ground leaving a small crater. Passengers made a heroic attempt to take control of the plane and certain passengers were honored by name. A film paid homage. The impression of the plane left in the soft soil can be seen as wing prints, vertical tail and fuselage. Local equipment was rented and leased to federal agents to remove debris. The CVR recorded terrorists flying for a very short time. The FDR data was released in limited and restricted form. Various telephone calls by passengers were made to family members 95% of the aircraft was recovered, EPA tested took soil samples, the 9/11 Commission commented on it, and DNA of all passengers was confirmed. A hijackers passport and bandana (in good and pristine condition, respectfully) were discovered along with a few personal items of the passengers. No, formal criminal investigation ever took place. Both blackboxes were recovered. That is what we are told, anyway. I have a few problems with the Official Conspiracy Theory.
