The Ohio State Troopers Association reluctantly announces the retirement of Staff Representative Paul David Riley. Dave has faithfully served the O.S.T.A. membership for almost ten years after serving the citizens of Ohio for 25 years with the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Dave represented O.S.T.A. members in the northwestern section of Ohio. When asked his favorite memory of being a staff representative, Dave said it was winning the Sgt. Daren Johnson termination arbitration. Post retirement, Dave will focus on working in his in-home business, Mim and Paps Country Crafts. He and his wife, Doris, are master woodcrafters and can be found at area craft shows throughout the year. They reside in Marion, Ohio. With a retirement, comes a new beginning. The O.S.T.A. is pleased to announce that Retired Sergeant Bruce Elling will be taking over Dave Rileys staff representative duties. Bruce retired from the Findlay post after 27 years of service, 18 years as a sergeant, to the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Since retiring from the OSHP, Bruce has worked as a probation officer/bailiff for the local municipal court and as a shipping director for a salvage yard. Bruce is very excited to work as an O.S.T.A. Staff Rep to get back in touch with the bargaining unit members in the field and continue the good work that Dave Riley has so admirably performed for the last decade. Bruce lives with his wife in Van Buren, Ohio. We will miss Dave but we know his passion for the members will keep him in touch and we are looking forward to working with Bruce! Thank you to both men for their past and future service to the men and women of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
