The Old Testaments Healing Record The Old Testament bridges time from creation to Messiah Yahshuah. It would be naive to assume that every instance of illness or healing has been recorded. However, it does seem reasonable that Father Yah’uah God included the majority of special cases in the divine record. Moses wrote the central statement on divine healing in Deuteronomy 32:39 (cf. Job 5:18): See now that I, I am He, and there is no Father Yah’uah God besides Me; it is I who put to death and give live. I have wounded, and it is I who heal; and there is no one who can deliver from My hand. The testimony rings clear: Father Yah’uah God shoulders ultimate responsibility for life or death and health or sickness. Father Yah’uah God Afflicted Father Yah’uah God physically afflicted more people, more often than He physically healed. For example: • Genesis 12:17— The household of Pharaoh • Genesis 16:2— Sarah • Genesis 20:18— The household of Abimelech • Genesis 30:2— Rachel • Genesis 32:22-32— Jacob • Exodus 4:6-7— Moses • Exodus 12:29-30— Firstborn of Egypt • Leviticus 10:1-2— Abihu and Nadab • Numbers 12:1-15— Miriam • Numbers 16:41-50 Israel • Numbers 21:4-9— Israel • Numbers 25:1-9— Israel • 1 Samuel 1:5-6— Hannah • 1 Samuel 5:6, 9, 12— Philistines • 2 Samuel 12:1-23— Infant son of David • 2 Samuel 24:1-17— Israel • 1 Kings 13:4— Jeroboam • 1 Kings 14:12, 17— Jeroboams son • 2 Kings 5:20-27— Gehazi • 2 Kings 19:35— Sennacheribs army • 2 Chronicles 21:16-20— Jehoram • 2 Chronicles 26:16-21— Uzziah • Ezekiel 24:16— Ezekiels wife • Daniel 4:28-37— Nebuchadnezzar Healing Methods Varied Father Yah’uah God honored and, at times, personally used various techniques to physically heal. 1. The sinner went unpunished o Exodus 32:22-32— Aaron o Numbers 12:1-15—Aaron 2. The sinner was punished o Leviticus 10:1-2— Nadab and Abihu o Numbers 12:1-15— Miriam o Numbers 16:1-50— Korah o 1 Kings 13:4— Jeroboam o Daniel 4:28-37— Nebuchadnezzar 3. Significantly, far fewer healings occurred over thousands of years in the Old Testament than were experienced during just a few decades in the New Testament.
