The Only 4 Rules You Need To Know 1. START something I already told my sister about this rule. She started her first Gorillos business at school, made lots of profits then ate up all the profits and the capital. I was impressed, my first business didn’t even have a customer except my mum who was the customer, the financier, the advisor and the everything of this business. After a huge time of working in losses, she opted out, and that’s how I screwed up my first business. What am I trying to say? Everything in life is going to come through starting something. Start saving some money. Start taking some side lessons, start learning a skill or two. Start greeting strangers. All great outcomes in life are a result of something that was started. If Mark Zuckerberg didn’t start Facebook, I would now be sleeping. 2. STOP Something There’s a great deal of stress that comes from doing things that we should stop doing. Stop working on a business that has really failed to work out. See, there’s a difference between persistence and being stubborn, most people never get it. Stop putting up with a relationship that has failed to work out. Stop going to that job that you hate. It’s simple, just QUIT. Stop attending events that you don’t want to, stop giving people money when you don’t want to. Much of your unhappiness is going to come from the things you don’t want to stop. Yes, sometimes, you just have to switch off the buttons of some things. 3. DO MORE of something Whatever is adding value to your life, do more of it. Whatever is creating you the best results in life, do more of it. Do more of loving people, do more of forgiving people, do more of listening, and yes, do more of having fun and being happy. If something brings you joy, do more of it. 4. DO LESS of something Whatever is stealing your happiness, do less of it. Whatever is not adding value to your life, do less of it. If you are not making money on Facebook whether directly or indirectly, then do less of facebooking. Do less when it comes to doing work that drains your energy, do less of over-spending. Do less of trying to live up to people’s expectations, do less of trying to keep up appearances. So, here’s a tip, pick something and subject it to the 4 rule test… Perhaps it’s a relationship with someone, ask yourself: 1. Should I start this? 2. If I have already started, should I do more of this? 3. If not, should I do less of this? 4. If not content with just less, should I just stop this? Those are the only 4 rules you need to know in life. The other four rules are the following: 1. The 80-20 Rule 80% of your results come from 20% efforts. 80% of business profits come from 20% products or services. Figure out the 20% and capitalize on that. Figure out the 20% of your friends who make up for 80% of your happiness. Figure out the 20% events that bring you 80% of fun. 2. The 5-6 People Rule The rule states that you are the average of the 5-6 people you spend most of your time with. You earn the average of what your closest friends earn. 3. The Hard-Work Rule It states that Hard-work will always beat Talent if Talent doesn’t work hard. My father always told me; “you can do anything in life, you can get anything in life, as long as you are willing to put in the equivalent in hard-work..” 4. The 6 People separator It states that 6 people separate you from anyone in this life. Between me and you, there are 6 people standing between us. Between you and the president, there are 6 people separating you from meeting him. Your role is to figure out those 6 people. This is essentially the law of networking. You know this one person who leads you to the next person, that introduces you to the next person and before you know it all, you’ve met the person you always wanted to meet… Namaste
