The Originals Season 1 Spoilers: Leah Pipes Teases Twists of the First 3 Episodes Considering that The Originals is The Vampire Diaries’ spin-off, it’s no surprise that the plot is full of shocking twists and turns. Though spoilers have trickled out since the backdoor pilot aired, there is still much to come on the New Orleans-set drama, and Leah Pipes, who plays bartender Camille O’Connell, graciously teased the drama ahead. In case you need a refresher, Cami is a psychology student who believes everyone is truly good, and that no one is evil. However, that may change once she realizes who she’s befriending. “She’s not aware that she’s making friends with vampires,” Cami tells The CW’s NOLA38, adding that they’re “a little more jaded being around for thousands of years.” The blonde has also come to the Big Easy for “unknown reasons,” which probably means she probably has a few secrets of her own. Secrets lead to edge-of-your-seat moments, of course, and Leah promises a lot of them. “Every script I’ve read so far, I read it within 20 minutes and then I read it again almost instantly. These scripts are so gripping … they pulled all the stuff out in the first three episodes. There’s full-on battle scenes, there’s romance, and there’s drama. There’s really everything.” In true Julie Plec fashion, there are jaw-dropping scenes ahead, too. “Fans can definitely expected to be shocked,” she notes, explaining that fans should expect the unexpected. “Don’t expect anything! Anything you do expect, it’s not going to happen. Something completely new and different is going to happen.” And for those wondering what the differences are between The Originals and TVD, Leah has the answer. “I think The Vampire Diaries is a wonderful coming-of-age story about a girl … and guys figuring out what they believe in and what they want to fight for,” she says. “And the great thing about The Originals is that it’s about people who already have those things. They know what they believe in, and they’re fighting for what they believe in. And it’s a very powerful story because of that.” We’re already hooked and counting down the days. Are you nervous about the powerful drama to come on The Originals? Sound off below, and catch the series premiere on Thursday, October 3 at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.
