The P.U.R.C has no business engaging labour unions in any negotiation. It is the responsibility of government to do that, and if President Mahama has failed to broker any deal welcoming with organized labour, one wonders what the P.U.R.C can achieve. After the increases, the John Mahama-led government could have absolved part of the burden of Ghanaians, but as insensitive as this government is, they are unwilling to live up to their responsibilities. I wonder who is advising the P.U.R.C to chart this unholy course. Many are those who are under the notion that the P.U.R.C is an appendage of the ruling government, and one would have expected them to do everything humanly possible to wean themselves out of this tag, but this latest move to usurp the powers of the government to intervene in this matter only confirms our fears that indeed, this particular P.U.R.C is nothing more than a bootlicker to the ruling party. It does what pleases the government, not what is best for the ordinary Ghanaian...
