The PA wish to post the following on behalf of Fintan our principal. It is disappointing to observe some disgusting racist grafitti on the boundary wall of this shared-campus as it faces into the private Brackenwood estate in an area managed by North Eastern Accomodation Mangement on behalf of the Brackenwood residents. As a school, we have concluded making a formal complaint to the Balbriggan Gardai. The case reference is Pulse Incident 11354755. We ask that any person with any information concerning the grafitti contact Balbriggan Gardai directly on 01 8020510, quoting the Pulse Incident reference, if possible. It was only possible to make this complaint thanks to the fact that the grafitti remained in place and visible to the Gardai. We thank the local community for allowing this to happen. It is disappointing to note, however, that a small group of people though exercised by this development, did not take the appropriate steps of taking this to the Gardai at an earlier stage. Grafitti such as this is a criminal offence under a variety of legislation, including incitement to racial hatred. We hope that with the co-operation of the public the Gardai will be able to pursue a successful conviction. Our experience as an Educate Together school in Balbriggan has been of a community that has made great strides in developing a successful vibrant multicultural space.
