The PNE competition was on Aug. 23/24 2013 I have a couple of things I would like to say before giving the low down on the Fair. Joanne you are a godsend, not just for all that you did for the PNE but for stepping forward and doing all of the performance courses (Agrifair, Chilliwack, and the PNE). Without your knowledge, sportsmanship, crazy --- patterns, and advise, I/We would have been at a loss. Thank you, thank you thank you. You have personality plus, and it has been a chanllenge following your courses. Good on you!! Island People, you know who you are. What great sportsmandhip, and competiveness you have. Had alot of fun with all of you. Bringing your horses out for the public to see and touch, was an added extra. You made alot of young to older people have that special moment. To you I also say, Thank You. Now for the PNE - There was alot of worrying about what the arena was going to be like, as we had to share it with the Draft Horses, Cattle Penning Competition, and other Big Horses. True to their word (Suzzanah) made sure that the arena was in good condition for our Minis. The footing was very good, and when you are jumping, driving, or showing halter it is always nice to have even footing. We had a good showing of Youth, and did not hear of one incident among them. All of us had a great time, there was some confusion about stalling, but it was corrected and all went smoothly from then on. I know that there were some members that were worried about two days at the PNE. But to tell you the truth, it was easier than having the competition in one day. We had time to sit and chat, interact with the public, walk around and see the PNE/all the displays, still had time to get back to the barn get ready for the Mini Competition. Congratulations to all of the High Point, Reserve High Point and Supreme Halter, Sunny, Lena, and Tina. Cannot wait until next year. We now know what to expect with sharing the Arena with the Bigger Horses. For those of you that missed this experience , try to make it next year. I stayed at the PNE in their small RV area, and I had no problems what-so-ever. Just make sure that you are self contained, there are no hook ups. They did have port-a-potties there. Thank You to ALL, Vicki Schulz BCMHC President
