The POWER of GOD is SHOWN when we PRAY! I love the display found in 1 Kings 18:36-38. This is where Elijah has challenged the prophets of Baal to PRAY that their god would burn up the sacrifice they had made. After they failed, Elijah completely drenched his offering with water and offered this prayer to God: “’O Lord, God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, let it be known this day that You are God in Israel, and that I am your servant, and that I have done all these things at Your word. Answer me, O Lord, answer me, that this people may know that You, O Lord, are God, and that You have turned their hearts back.’ .....And look what God does as the Scripture concludes: Then the fire of the Lord fell and consumed the burnt offering and the wood and the stones and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.” Prayer has POWER! Not every prayer is going to be answered by God this way, of course, but the POWER is there nonetheless. #UniversalPentecostalMovement © #EricVaughnWashington
