The Paddler’s Pub @ Mountain Whitewater Descents regrets having to shut off our beer taps. Bottles and Cans are still cold AND being served. The volleyball is hot and the music wonderful. It seems as though Larimer County wants us to have a retail food license. Why must we have the same permit as McDonalds and your butcher at the grocery store? We don’t serve food. Independently licensed food trucks supply our guests with wonderful concoctions. Although not required, all our beer lines are cleaned twice a month. The Larimer County Application for a Retail Food Establishment is short, but takes many months to acquire. They first ask what type of restaurant you are (fast food, fish market, meat market etc.), contact info, hours of operation, Projected daily maximum # of meals 0 # of employees Mgmt. 0 Kitchen 0 Wait staff 0 When asked all other officials who administer liquor licenses for Larimer county and the state, none had ever heard of the need for a retail food license to pour tap beer or open a wine bottle. If the officials don’t know the rules, how should a small business owner. It seems as though not only does Larimer County not want kayakers downtown in a play park, they don’t want paddlers drinking keg beer either. Come down to the Paddler’s Pub @ Mountain Whitewater Descents, have a cold (bottled) beer and enjoy summer with us.
