Dr. Tibi was born in the Palestinian village of Taibeh and has Israeli citizenship. He commands formal training in the field of medicine and holds a medical degree from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Tibi is currently a Palestinian member of the Knesset as Deputy Speaker and currently heads a nonviolent resistance movement, the Ra’am Ta’al Party. Prior to that he was adviser on Israeli affairs and served in the capacity of spokesperson to the Palestinian Delegation during the reign of the legendary PLO chairman Yasser Arafat.
