The Parable of the Wandering Sheep Matthew 18:10 “See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven. 12 “What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off? 13And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. 14In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should perish. * Our Father has a magnificent heart that we cannot even fathom. Some people on earth have had very harsh childhoods that either didn’t involve their father or involved him in a way that was painful and caused much scarring. I have heard it said that we tend to view our heavenly father the way we view our earthly father, until we can get past the pain our earthly fathers may have brought into our lives. I, myself, am blessed and fortunate to have had an earthly father who was as close to my Heavenly Father in so many aspects. It is easy for me to see Jehovah as my Heavenly Father who loves me and would leave 99 sheep on a hill just to come search for me. For others it’s not so easy. But I will tell you this: He does. He always has. He will move heaven and earth for you just to be with you. He will send people to you that will show you his love. He will painstakingly coordinate ways to be with you. And if all that wasn’t enough, He’d die for you. In fact, He already has.
