The Pass To The Mountain: To live a holy lifestyle, we must - TopicsExpress

The Pass To The Mountain: To live a holy lifestyle, we must embrace a heart that Fears God; it is through the Fear of God, holiness is birthed. The Israelites reaction to the Lord God coming upon Mount Siani was one of fear and they drew back (Exodus 20:18-19). They truly did not have any desire to be in the presence of the Lord God. They retreated from His glory; the drew back because they were full of fear. They remained in prison to the fear that held them in bondage; within the presence of God, there is salvation and freedom. Israel had the opportunity to experience true freedom in the presence of God; we are given the same opportunity now. Colossians 1:13 says, Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son. In the very presence of God, there is healing and restoration for the soul. Israel is stranger to what God can do and will do for those that are faithful and obedient to the word of God. Exodus 15:1, 20 says, (1) Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the Lord, and spake, saying, I will sing unto the Lord, for he hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea... (20) And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances. He delivered them from the bondage and tyranny of Egypt. He performed miracles before Israel and they saw the power of God move in the midst of them. In the very presence of God, everything is exposed; the works of darkness is exposed and shown for what it really is. No one can hide their sin within the presence of God; His glory reveals everything, shining light in the midst of darkness. Although, we can do things for the Lord and still have hidden sin within our hearts (Matthew 7:22-23), we must draw near to the Lord God and allow His presence to expose what is within us; so, that it can be dealt with. We must allow and cooperate with the Holy Spirit to prepare ourselves to be a holy vessel, filled with the Fire of God. Dont be like the Israelites that stayed away from the presence of the Lord God because of fear of exposure. John 3:20 says, For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. Exodus 20:20-21 says, (20) And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not. (21) And the people stood afar off, and Moses drew near unto the thick darkness where God was. Church, we have the blessed opportunity to draw near unto God and to be in His presence. We have the freedom to choose to come to Him; but, we must make the choice to pursue Him. Embrace the fear of God and allow the fear of God to consume you, so you can get rid of the filth of the world that is within us. Let the very presence of God surround you and draw near unto Him. Deuteronomy 5:24 says, And ye said, Behold, the Lord our God hath shewed us his glory and his greatness, and we have heard his voice out of the midst of the fire: we have seen this day that God doth talk with manm and he liveth. Church, too many of us are unwilling to deal with the sin and darkness within our own heart; so, we will keep a distance and listen to a minister/ leader direct us and speak to us. We are leaning to much on the voice of man instead of drawing near to God. Church, it is time to draw close to the Lord and become the church that He desires us to be.
