The Past • The past is where it should be and where it must stay. ‘The past is not worth recounting except in so far as it can serve as an example’. ** I absolutely agree with this. • Never use the past as a weapon. Use it only to learn from. • The past is a very emotional place. • Throwing the mistakes from the past into the face of another person is cowardly. It simply reveals the fact that we have nothing positive to contribute and seek only to offend another thus protecting ourselves from our own lack of anything logical to say or contribute. • The past brings both smiles and sadness. It also brings happiness and regret. • Do not live there. It is not a good place to live. The house is falling down around you, so get out quickly! Live in the moment because in another moment, that moment is now in the past. Leave it alone. • Did you ever see the ‘Back to the Future’ series of movies? In the ‘80’s they were it my friend. Can you imagine being able to change the past and the future? • I have to confess that there are things that I would love to change. There are those actions I would rather not have engaged in. However, there are those times that I would love to have again. • Sometimes I wonder why history is even taught in schools. I suppose there is a lot to learn from it. Like that we do not repeat unkindness, war and things like the holocaust. • Now, the momentary present, is destined to be the past, so do not do anything you will regret forever. • Did you know that because our thinking has become so relativistic, the past is no longer what it used to be? The following poem is simply to fill space. (At least the title is past tense).
