Because of Matthews explanation of the meaning of the name Immanuel, we know what the sign was - Jesus coming to live as God with us. His presence is the presence of God. His life is the sign of God. The miracle of conception is the mystery of God and his declaration of grace for us. 2) - Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there be any virtue and if there be any praise, that is what occupies your thought (Philippians 4: 8).. REFLECTION: More than a recommendation, this verse speaks of a need that every Christian has, which is to occupy his thoughts only with what magnifies the Lord. We can not prevent the enemy to put improper thoughts in our mind, but we can rebuke and not let occupy place in our mind. (Romans 8:26). Has it happened to be deeply concerned about something or someone, but you do not know what to pray? What can I say? you think. I do not know how to articulate it. Did you know that often the best prayers are shorter and simpler? One might think, God likes adorned, long prayers. The more extensive they are, God will be more impressed. But I do not think exactly like that. Jesus spoke of the Pharisees who loved to make long prayers. He said: They think that they shall be heard for their much speaking Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.. (Matthew 6: 7-8). Sometimes we say to God, Lord, I want to pray for this situation Um, well, um ..... We want to pray, but do not know how to articulate. It may be nothing more than a grunt or a groan. But God understands this prayer. If you have a beautiful prayer to pray or do not know what to say, show it to God, and the Holy Spirit will help you. According to (Romans 8:26), The Spirit helps us in our weakness. The Holy Spirit helps us to pray. Remember all that God has done for you and all He does for you. He saved you. His Holy Spirit dwells in you. He assures her. He teaches you. And He helps you pray. So lets give ourselves to Him. Lets open our hearts to the work He wants to do in our lives.
