The Pharisees in Jesus day were very accusative, haughty. - TopicsExpress

The Pharisees in Jesus day were very accusative, haughty. argumentative, fault-finding, legalistic, and self righteous. They were often found boasting in their pious service and knowledge of God. They were so confident of their doctrine and theology and yet when they stood before the Messiah HImself, they failed to recognize Him..they accused Him...condemned Him. Jesus said in Matthew 5:3 that when we are poor in spirit (humble and see our need of God) we inherit the Kingdom. The Pharisees could not engage with what Christ came to bring them (eternal life) and Jesus called them hypocrites in Matthew 23:13 because they also kept others from entering the kingdom. A spirit of accusation and condemnation will never open the door to Gods heart or His kingdom - these things close the door on the love of God. God loved even the hypocrites - Paul called himself a Pharisee of Pharisees and yet he was so transformed that he is known as the Apostle of Grace...oh how wonderful Jesus is. He loves and forgives us all. Lets pray for all phariseeism to leave us...all accusation, self righteousness, pride, and condemnation. Lets embrace Christs love and grace. Lets walk in the light as He is in the light...and hey... please...lets not condemn those trapped in such bondage... remember that the early church prayed for Saul and then he was converted. They loved him. Lets do the same for others that we see in the same trappings...lets love others as we would desire to be loved.
