The Philadelphia Inquirers inconsistency and hypocrisy are stunning. Three-plus years ago, when John Dougherty first served as a Commissioner of the DRPA (appointed by Gov. Rendell), the paper covered his every move. Intended to bring much-needed reforms and toll-payer protections. Likewise, the Inquirer editorial board lauded Johns reform agenda and praised his independence and willingness to take on the New Jersey political bloc that used the Authority as its own personal ATM. The great political cartoonist Tony Auth even memorialized Docs courageous stance for weary toll-payers in a cartoon. Fast forward to the present. Todays Inquirer editorial faults PA Auditor General Eugene DePasquale for naming John as his designee on the DRPA, whining that Eugene should have chosen someone more indepent. Frauds. Hypocrites. I think its no more than jealousy and elitism at work. GO GET EM, DOC!!!
