The Pike Central High School girls basketball team dropped a 45-42 loss at Heritage Hills on Thursday, Jan. 30. Sophomore center Samantha Halbrader and freshman guard Jolene Whitehead led Pike Central in scoring with 11 and 10 points, respectively. Sophomore guard Alyx Abbott led the Lady Chargers in rebounds with eight and in steals with seven. Pike Central fell to 3-16 overall and 1-6 in the Pocket Athletic Conference. Junior guard Greer Neff led Heritage Hills (9-10 overall, 2-4 in the PAC) with 13 points. In the junior varsity game, sophomores Claire Dilger and Jamie Tempel scored seven points each to lead Heritage Hills to a 42-25 win over Pike Central, which was led in scoring by freshman Peyton Ruppel, who scored nine points. The Lady Chargers will host Tecumseh on Saturday, Feb. 1, with the jayvee game tipping off at 1 p.m., and the varsity game following at 2:30 p.m.
