The Pipeline Bill was just voted down in the Senate. My biggest - TopicsExpress

The Pipeline Bill was just voted down in the Senate. My biggest political joy came immediately after the announcement in the Senate Chamber, when some of my Lakota sisters and brothers broke out into a traditional song before security rushed them out. The pipeline was/is scheduled to go straight through their territories. It is guaranteed that the red team will push for another vote in January 2016, when they will have the majority. It will pass then, and President Obama will have to decide if he wants to veto the bill. Hang in there Brother Prez, the bill will return shortly. In the meantime, lets talk about the horrible environmental impact of depleted uranium weaponry, as well as the massive pollution from fossil fuel extraction going on in Iraq, Afghanistan, the Levant region in general, as well as Nigeria, and many other regions on Planet Earth. The struggle of Indigenous Peoples to protect Our Mother, Earth is global. Full disclosure: I say this as I reluctantly turn up my heat because of the cold in New England after I drove to and from work in my gasoline powered car. npr.org/blogs/thetwo-way/2014/11/18/365048998/senate-rejects-keystone-xl-pipeline-bill-in-a-close-vote
