The Pittsburgh Symphony has gone to the dogs, literally. Resident conductor Fawzi Haimor recently auditioned ten dogs for a rare performance of Leopold Mozart’s Hunting Horn Symphony. You can watch the entertaining auditions in the video below. According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the symphony, written by Wolfgang Amadeus’s father, also asks for gunshots — the PSO will likely use some sort of starter pistol — and shouts. So, a calm dog who is able to stay focused on the job at hand was also a requirement. The five dogs who won the audition had already been taught how to bark on cue. They will be appearing in June at an outdoor concert.
