The Pluck: When a parent grabs a toddler from behind, lifts their body into the air, and physically restrains them. The Pluck almost always triggers a tantrum, as any person who was completely engrossed in an important activity would vehemently object at being suddenly and forcibly yanked away. What is a respectful approach you could take instead? Slow down and respect your childs agenda as equally valid as your own. Join with him first. Meet him in his world, respect and enjoy it (have fun!), facilitate closure, and transition into what comes next.
