The Political Action Committee (PAC) Friends of Fox, whose chairman and treasurer are Fox C-6 Board member Vernon Sullivan, received contributions from the school district, which is illegal. Here is what CFO John Brazeal found: One disbursement in December 2003 for $100 and the other in May 2012 for $50. As a result of this find, I have requested that Friends of Fox return the $150 to Fox School District. It appears that money was collected by a parents group in support of a ballot issue. While it is allowable for parents to contribute to a ballot issue, they should have done so directly to the PAC, and not indirectly through the district. Its interesting that Vern didnt volunteer this information when the illegal contribution to the other PAC by the school district was mentioned, or the fact that his PAC has used the schools address in the past as its own. Its is also a violation of the law for a candidate for office to also form, control and direct a PAC/Continuing Committee. Vern did just that in 2011 and 2013 when he ran for the school board while directing and controlling Friends of Fox. I would like to hear Verns response to these new discoveries. How many more discoveries are waiting to be found? Can people just be responsible and step up and bring these things to light? It looks bad when others have to find these things out. Friends of Fox has been around since 1994, so its not like its a newbie mistake. Vern should have known better.
