The PooTax? One thing has been missed amid the unbridled enthusiasm for the environmental benefits of the carrier bag tax. Many a thrifty dog owner reuses their supermarket bags as dog poo bags. The 5p per bag charge may reduce the quantity of litter in our streets, parks and countryside at the expense of increasing the quantity something even less pleasant... albeit biodegradable. Do patrons have any free alternatives to the supermarket carrier bag? Maybe the Our Dogs, Dog World, Dogs Today et al should consider priniting on greaseproof paper.
