The Pow Wow i attended today was very disappointing. I was off to find something to eat at the pow wow, when i discovered an ENBRIDGE truck serving food to people, acting like theyre doing good for native people, when really.. they play a huge part in Oil Spills, Pipelines and it made me very upset that i left the grounds immediately. I found it very hypocritical to be at a pow wow with a corporate sponsor like Enbridge present. It was shameful and embarrassing. How could some of my own people be deceitful like that? To give in to temptation all over a quick buck? To make things even more embarrassing, they had a Police Recruitment sign-up station, meanwhile, police are already in hot water as a result of the Tina Fontaine case and the pow wow had the nerve to let them participate? It was a major slap in the face and i was pretty offended. Its downright disgusting.
