The Power of Nourishment We eat to........ Energize Grow and Develop Purify and Cleanse Prevent and Fight Disease Nurture our Outer Beauty Socialize and Enjoy Our daily goal is to consume food that will help serve these functions to their fullest. Seven components of food - Carbohydrates, Proteins, Fats, Vitamins, Minerals, Water, & Fiber. Principals of food combining - Eat a diet that is 70% alkaline, water-rich, and eat only with one concentrated food (i.e. doesnt have much water, such as meat, fish or baked potato). 1. Protein and carbohydrate foods should not be combined 2. A leafy, green salad can be eaten with any protein, carbohydrate, or fat. 3. Eat fruit by themselves. 4. Try not to drink liquids with or immediately following a meal (at least 10 min.). Instead, drink water 30 min. prior to a meal. 5. Eat in a relaxed state. 6. Eat comfortable amounts of food. Eating small amounts of food every 3 hours is a good practice. 7. Eat organic foods. 8. Add supplements to your diet as needed.
