The Power of Rejecting Wise Counsel...a great asset that God Himself gives us, is the power to either receive Wisdom or Reject It. Now when it comes to making key decisions that could have a positive or negative effect on our lifes future; it is imperative that we seek the wisdom of those that have more experience than we do. But in order to do that means, that you may have to receive Words of Truth & Knowledge that may totally go against how you feel. As Wisdom NEVER Speaks to the Heart of Emotion, but the Spirit of Sound Judgement. As you can never lead based on how you feel, but only by what is Wise, True and the Spiritually Right Thing to Do. When we place our emotional motives at the forefront to please people, instead of pleasing God, we should not be surprised of the outcome. For it is in these moments when God is ready and willing to give us the heart of the people, we wind up losing them because we place our pride before the purpose of Gods plan for the people to DO THEM GOOD. As Wisdom never turns its back on goodness, faithfulness, love, grace, understanding, sound judgment nor wise counsel. It only receives it, and leaves pride, arrogance, foolishness, and wrath to the wayside. We will receive one or the other, but the truth of who we are will always be revealed in our hearts to either receive or reject the wisdom of wise counsel. - Coach Mason Word of The Lord...Do not reject of become familiar with the spiritually fit wise counsel that God has placed in your life, for it can be the very thing that God will use to release favor into your life. Scripture: Rehoboam went to Shechem, where all Israel had gathered to make him king. When Jeroboam son of Nebat heard of this, he returned from Egypt, for he had fled to Egypt to escape from King Solomon. The leaders of Israel summoned him, and Jeroboam and all Israel went to speak with Rehoboam. “Your father was a hard master,” they said. “Lighten the harsh labor demands and heavy taxes that your father imposed on us. Then we will be your loyal subjects.” Rehoboam replied, “Come back in three days for my answer.” So the people went away. Then King Rehoboam discussed the matter with the older men who had counseled his father, Solomon. “What is your advice?” he asked. “How should I answer these people?” The older counselors replied, “If you are good to these people and do your best to please them and give them a favorable answer, they will always be your loyal subjects.” But Rehoboam rejected the advice of the older men and instead asked the opinion of the young men who had grown up with him and were now his advisers. “What is your advice?” he asked them. “How should I answer these people who want me to lighten the burdens imposed by my father?” The young men replied, “This is what you should tell those complainers who want a lighter burden: ‘My little finger is thicker than my father’s waist! But Rehoboam spoke harshly to them, for he rejected the advice of the older counselors. King Rehoboam sent Adoniram, who was in charge of forced labor, to restore order, but the people of Israel stoned him to death. When this news reached King Rehoboam, he quickly jumped into his chariot and fled to Jerusalem. (2 Chronicles 10:1-10, 13, 18 NLT)
