The Preacherdude wrote on Topix: This is all very troubling news and the accusations are astonishingly detailed. This has to lend itself to their credibility and accuracy. It is not surprising to hear of another minister having their ego inflated to the point that they feel that they can do whatever they want in the name of God. There are plenty of examples in recent history of similar Men of God falling into this temptation. Jim and Tammy Faye Baker come to mind as a great example. Perhaps it all started with a new house, car and go carts. Jesus certainly did not and does not draw us to him by demanding his way or the highway. Leadership is not standing up in a church meeting, loosing your temper and demanding follow me or else. Leadership is not demanding complete authority and control, changing by-laws and church names. Jesus once again did not lead in that manner. Even a casual reading of the 4 Gospels is evidence. In fact Jesus taught that he who wants to be first must be last and the least in he Kingdom of God are the greatest. So bullying dissenters in a meeting or from the pulpit is never a pastoral thing to do, I am certain that the IRS is capable of getting to the bottom of the financial issue. It is against the law for a non-profit to make a profit and the finances must be open and transparent. In fact, Jesus tells us that the truth shall set us free. If there is wrong doing it will be apparent. I might add that none of us no matter how holy are above the law. The scripture tells us about paying taxes render unto Caesars what is Caesars and to God what is Gods.:
