The Prescription that always works! Ive been here in General Santos City for 4 months already. My blessings mound up everyday as we see God bless us and help us with the struggles that come from living with over 40 people, raising funds to run the Academy with 200 students and provide for 200 students in the public school. And that is only two of the ministries we are operating. I seen God send money for projects that had come to a stand still because of lack of funds, then the job was completed. Weve seen people prayed for and healing come. God brought us a young woman who was pregnant and seem desperate to the point of thinking she should give us her baby and walk away. But God... God living in the hearts of the men and women here convinced her to stay, give birth, raise her own baby and be a help to the mission. Mama and baby are thriving. Mama is in Bible Study every week with Ma;am Kristie and she helps in the kitchen and helps to care for her baby as well as the many other children on the mission. We love our new Mama! We also have struggles and problems that just wont go a way. It seems some days God is not listening to our requests for help. The funding for the new school building is not coming in and the project is at a standstill, yet our school that is here at the compound is bulging with students and more wanting to come. We were to have built the new school by June 2014. Our vehicles break down every week. They are old and get used alot. They haul people every week to church and youth group,28-30 kids back and forth to college every week. building supplies, lugaw to the community feedings, 10-15 us us to town every Thursday for a weeks worth of shopping, The roads these vehicles have to use are very bad! The first 2 miles are unpaved and sandy. They have deep ruts and lots of bumps. Our tires blow regularly! But when something happens, God.... yes God takes care! Since I started this blog yesterday morning our jeepney that hauls the large crowds has been down for over a week. Weve been nursing it along for months. But this morning (Tues)....God! God has encouraged several people to help us with the price of a new motor for the jeepney, $6000 has been sent to us to buy what we need. Praise His Name! Many of you know that I have been under the weather for a couple of days. To make a long story short, I was taken to the clinic yesterday and was told I probably have the flu. The doc was a lovely man who spoke better English than Maxine, and was very interested in our ministry. When I left the receptionist said that will be 500pc. (about $12). Before I could get my money out, the docs assistant came out and told us the Doc said we were community helpers so my visit was free. Before I had gone to the doctor, I was feeling pretty down! I allowed myself to get depressed and worried. I was told I might have to stay in the hospital if they couldnt figure out what was wrong. So I was scared too. In the hospital here, you have to have someone stay with you 24/7, bring you food, buy your medicines outside and bring them to the hospital. I was not looking forward to that. Then God...... I was sitting considering what I was going to do, telling everyone I was not going to stay in the hospital, it would be to inconvenient for everyone. When I finally shut-up and prayed asking God to help me, He politely reminded me of the verse I so boldly tell others to live by; Phil. 4:6-7 Be anxious for Nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, WITH THANKSGIVING, let your requests be made know unto God and the PEACE that passes all understanding will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Oh yea, dont worry, trust God, give thanks in all things! Practice what you preach, Mary Lou! is what I heard. Oh my, Forgive me ,Lord! I can tell you that when we went into the doctors and the halls were lined with Filipino patients and we were told it would be 5 hrs until I could see the doc, I felt the anxiety start to rise up again, but then I thanked God that Marilou and Leonila were with me, they knew what to do, the office was clean and nice, the receptionist was friendly and spoke some English, and the scale said I had lost 10 lbs, the day got better and I felt the Peace that God had promised. I didnt at that time know what the outcome would be, but I knew I could do what God would require of me that day and He would be with me through it. The Dr. gave me a prescription for a better medicine to take for my fever and my stomach trouble, but the best prescription Ive ever been given came straight from The Great Physician, Phil.4:6-7. When I take a heavy dose of it everyday regardless of what is going on, I will be at peace with my Jesus! It is one prescription I recommend sharing with family and friends. The side effects are eternal! Love to all! See you in November! Blog by my sweet friend Mary Lou Moore
