The President, The “Tout, The Clergy and Five Unanswered Questions One of the privileges enjoyed by Presidents all over the world is the free broadcasting space at their disposal. It is immaterial whether the President is competent, clueless, aggressive, dovish, strong, weak and what have you. Everything they say or do must be broadcast free of charge to the citizenry. This is the reason the categorization of former Heads of State as motor park touts by President Jonathan received wide media coverage. Among those he called motor park touts were former President Olusegun Obasanjo and the President’s brand new political father, Ibrahim Babangida. It is the same reason that the world is stunned that the President kept mute over the massacre of innocent Nigerians in Baga by terrorists. Not even a whisper from the President on his campaign trail. This is the height of insensitivity that must be condemned by any human with blood flowing in his/her veins. We do not need such a man as our leader. Back to the “touts” and their activities, President Jonathan finally visited the “Chief tout” to plead for his political support towards rescuing an election he has already lost. Obasanjo did not mince words in his discussion with the President in presence of respected clergies. He posed five serious questions that could haunt the President forever. He asked him thus: 1.Did you agree to run for only one term or not? 2.What did you tell me was your reason for not going after Boko haram insurgents even when I told you this will boomerang? 3. What happened to the Nigerias external reserve and sovereign wealth fund? 4. Did you give license to Niger Delta Militants (Dokubo and Toompolo) to import arms in the name of their privately owned companies? If so, for what reason? 5. Did you not get correspondence from the United States consulate that a certain citizen named Buruji Kashamu is indicted for Drug trafficking? Why did u appoint the same Kashamu as South West leader of PDP rather than hand him over to the US? And did the PDP give automatic senate ticket to a wanted and convicted drug baron? We could locate the present national decay to those unanswered questions by the President. And some people still want this man to continue as President? Incredible! Only in Nigeria.
