The President is asking the National Assembly for an approval to get 1 BILLION DOLLARS external loan to fight Boko Haram insurgency. This is another gargantuan madness! It is on record that the government has claimed to have spent about 6 BILLION DOLLARS on the fight against insurgency. Where is the money? Where are the arms? Where are the facilities? It is also on record that for several years, government has appropriated several hundreds of billions of Naira for Defence each fiscal year. Where/what is the product of such allocations? It is, again, on record that the 3 year Nigerian/Biafran civil war of 1967-1970 was prosecuted WITHOUT $1 of external borrowing. Now, these current chaps want to cajole us under the pretext of strengthening our armoury when few months earlier they fired back cylinders and denied Borno governors insunuations that Boko haramists were better armed and motivated than our soldiers. This so-called loan is clearly meant for private pockets, mobilisation for the impeachment of more governors, prosecution of the 2015 do or die campaign, etc. Let us look beyond our noses, Nigerians. All the monies saved for mundane, evil purposes should be rechanneled to better funding of our defence system. Example of such monies are the several cargoes of cash despatched into several Zenith Bank bullion vans from two airplanes at the Akure airport during Ekiti guber election; the cash used to settle Adamawa lawmakers nd the over 500 million Naira allegedly used to whitewash Nasarawa legislators. How about the missing 20 billion dollars NNPC funds or even the 10 million Naira jet rent cash? Let us all stand up against this rubbish or we shall all die sitting down nd trying to understand what is happening. We shall be sending a signed petition to my two amiable representatives at the National Assembly - Hon. Emmanuel Jime (Reps) and Senator George Akume (Senate) to reject this request. That is the sort of soiled rubbish we shall resist when we get to the House of Representatives by Gods grace. Arise O Compatriots!
