The Presidential debate last night was just excellent and all the candidates were at their best in terms of policy articulation. For FDDs Edith Nawakwi, a good constitution and not a good President is everything Zambia needs to resolve our problems. For Elias Chipimo and Nevers Mumba, quality and morally upright leadership is what Zambia need as priority in order to resolve our national problems. And for UPNDs HH and Green Partys Peter Sinkamba, the prioirty issue is putting our national economy in good shape first and the rest will fall in place... In terms of explaining where and how to finance their policies, Peter Sikamba of Green Party was the main man because he had clear answers on the sources of money to improve education, health, sanitation, agric, youth and women empowerment, etc. But did Mr. Sinkambas Marijuana wealth for financing the national budget convincing enough against the moral and spiritual sensitivity around us? In terms of political sensitivity and ensuring that almost each answer was directly connected to the campaign agenda, HH was the main man. He made sure that most of his answers were linked to his campain messages including attributing the reduction in fuel price to his partys pressure on government. But was HHs constant and direct connections of the questions to UPND campaign messages especially against the PF government convincing enough? Overall, there was no winner or loser for the debate as each candidate seem to have been well prepared and had clear answers to the questions. As such, the best candidate will be known on Wednesday next week following the elections on Tuesday.Good luck to all our political leaders contesting the election and once more, One Zambia, One Nation....
