The Prevention of Human Trafficking Bill was introduced in - TopicsExpress

The Prevention of Human Trafficking Bill was introduced in Parliament today by Member of Parliament Mr Christopher de Souza. Trafficking-In-Persons (TIP) is a transnational crime where vulnerable individuals are recruited and conveyed, often through coercive or deceitful means, for the purpose of exploitation. Singapore can be vulnerable to TIP activities due to our position as a regional hub. The TIP Bill will prescribe penalties to punish perpetrators. Law enforcement agencies will be provided specific powers to investigate offences. The Bill also provides measures to protect and to provide support to victims, while encouraging the reporting of suspected trafficking activities. Read more about the Bill here: bit.ly/ZrAxTZ
